Science

AVSC provides therapies based on the use of adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). The primary roles of adult stem cells in a living organism are to maintain and repair tissue. Adipose-derived adult mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSC) are multipotent and can differentiate into tendon, ligament, bone, cartilage, cardiac, nerve, muscle, fat, and liver tissue

Treatments

AVSC can now provide stem cell therapies for the treatment of arthritis and DJD in dogs and and the treatment of tendon and ligament injuries in dogs and horses.

Results

Results have been extremely promising. In regard to canine arthritis, approximately 80% of owners of dogs treated for arthritis with pure' cultured stem cells have reported a substantial improvement in the condition (quality of life) of their dog with an average improvement grading of 75%. In clinical trials in the equine setting, in excess of 75% of horses treated for tendon and ligament injuries returned to work at the prior level. Images of treated tendons have shown a rapid filling of the injured site and elegant tendon regeneration.

Costs

Costs are related to the condition being treated, the size/weight of the animal, the method of administration (IA or IV), and the number of cells appropriate for the treatment.

Alternative Treatments

AVSC can provide two alternative stem cell treatment regimes for companion animals and horses in Australia:-

A) Allogeneic Treatments - Cultured Stem Cells - high concentration stem cell treatments based on pure stem cells cultured from cells sourced from selected donor animals

B) Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) - based on cells isolated from adipose tissue that is initially surgically removed from the animal being treated.

Partners - AVSC is partnered with:-

Monash University - The AVSC group is researching and developing stem cell therapies with Monash Immunology and Stem Cell Laboratories ('MISCL'). MISCL is part of Monash University (Monash).

Vet-Stem, Inc - Vet-Stem, Inc of the USA is the worlds largest veterinary stem cell group. Vet-Stem has provided stem cell treatments for in excess of 7000 dogs, cats and horses.

AVSC is very interested in working with veterinarians to provide regenerative medicine treatments.

We would very much like to hear from you and discuss stem cell therapies.
